guys my 9 yr old brother reminds me of me

so he was rlly upset today bc he lost a voting thingy for art in school to the most popular kid bc he has a lot of friends who voted for him and none of my little brother’s friends are in his class

he started crying rlly quietly and no one saw except me so i climbed to the backseat of the car (we were driving home from somewhere) and he just

broke down

he put his head on my lap and started crying

and bc i feel others peoples pain whenever they like FEEL, i just held him and cried a bit too

i said he didn’t have to tell me anything if he didn’t want to (he didn’t want to)

he just cried a bit

but my little sister (she’s 7) would not shut the fuck up, she was practically yelling, thank god she wasn’t in the back w me and him

his head started hurting

and i told her to be quiet but she WOULD NOT STOP

so eventually he just closed down and turned away from me

but i still stayed with him

and i wish i had someone to do that kind of stuff for me and i dont, so i try to be that for other people

but he reminded me of myself bc i don’t let myself break down, im closed off too, my friends sometimes don’t feel like they care abt me, etc.

Let me tell you all a little story.

My little brother was young, I was young (I don't recall what precise age, but somewhere around 5 for him and 9 for me), and our household at the time was pretty lively most of the time people were home. For reference, our living room, kitchen, dining area, and stairwell were all openly connected, with the only wall residing between the kitchen and then living room.

Our dining area was the access to the garden via sliding glass door, so it was always well-lit during the day, and the furniture consisted of a large wooden table, chairs, and a shelf with a 20 gallon fish tank on it.

WELL ONE DAY business is going about as usual, everyone's mulling about the gaff, when this massive crash comes from the dining room. My mother heard it first, rushing to the scene to deter anyone from approaching the affected area.

I come bolting down the stairs with all the pent-up energy of a 9 year-old boy who heard a catastrophic sound, and when I reach the scene of the crime, I see the following:

My mother, standing towards the edge of the dining room in complete disbelief and/or (let's be honest, it's both) horror, revving her maternal engines to deal with this as well as she can;

My brother, standing next to the fish tank, with a smile that seemed like he had just drank a quart of his beloved chocolate milk (which is another story);

And about 10 gALLONS OF WATER AND THE OCCASIONALLY SPACED DANIO FISH LOITERING CASUALLY ON THE FLOOR, WHO HAD ASSUMABLY JUST COME FROM THEIR 12 TO 12 IN THE FISH TANK THROUGH THE NEWLY INSTALLED ENTRANCE OF A MASSIVE 6 INCH HOLE

Now you must understand, outside of the glass doors leading to the garden sat a concrete patio to stand on (or sit or dance or do whatever you're into I suppose), and flanking that patio on either side is a rock patch full up on well over fist-sized rocks.

See, what had happened, as evidenced by the new resident of the fish tank (a rock the size of my little brother's head), was that my little brother had taken a massive rock into the house, and thought to his little self, 'hm, what can one do with a rock', and then proceeded to SMASH the ROCK into the FISH TANK. WITHOUT HESITATION.

So overall, my brother nearly replaced the 'two birds, one stone' metaphor with 'screw it, rocks'll take out anything'.

Disclaimer for the fellow animal-lovers here, my mother saved every last fish that day

Trigons Backup Plan

So! Trigon knew from the moment his Daughter was taken in by the Monks of Azarath that it would be difficult to turn her to his will. He wasn't stupid, he knew just how hard it would be to make his daughter turn on everything she has ever known in her (very short) life.

He can't really blame her, even he believed that indiscriminate mass murder was wrong until his mid-200's, he just needs to wait for her to grow out of it.

But until then he still needs a way into the DC Universe. And if his daughter wouldn't help, then he could always just make a 2nd one.

So, he searches and eventually finds a Couple of Scientists who seem to be good targets. They are researching Magic and Ghosts, so he makes a Demonic Pact with them. He will give them the secrets needed to complete their Research, and in exchange all he asks is that they help him bare a child.

They agree, and Danny Fenton is born.

Danny was supposed to become a Hellmouth when he turned 16, unlocking his Demonic Powers and opening the way for Trigon to enter the DC Universe so he could conquer it.

Instead he managed to get himself killed at 14. Then he managed to come back to life as a Halfa, he got himself adopted by Clockwork, and he usurped the Throne of the Infinite Realms in the span of 1 year, therefore putting himself on the same level as his Father on the cosmic scale.

So there goes his Backup Plan.

Dammit.

Meanwhile Raven is panicking. She had been messing around with her Friends when they asked about the Spells she could do, and she off-handedly mentioned that she could cast Family Tracking Spells.

One thing led to another, and they all wanted to know if they had secret family. Then they asked if she wanted to try as well, and for some reason she agreed.

And long story short, she has a little brother somehow. A little brother who is only a few weeks away from turning 16, who doesn't know the Azarathian Spells she learned to prevent his own transformation into a Hellmouth.

What if a fic where Eddie finds Steve so pretty and cute and at times downright adorable that he keeps wanting to bite him, but he can't because they're friends. Eddie isn't even out to Steve, doesn't want to risk it. So instead of biting, he ends up grinding his teeth a lot.

He starts getting a lot of really bad tension headaches, which brings Steve even closer into his orbit because Steve is very sympathetic (and secretly, selfishly, kind of likes having a headache buddy, because it sucks but at least they're not, like, alone). Which means Eddie grinds his teeth more and ends up with more frequent headaches.

But trying to avoid Steve results in Steve showing up outside his door with over the counter painkillers, tea, Gatorade, Pedialyte, hot and cold compresses, high quality sleep masks for cutting out light while he rests, essential oils, anything he knows that works for him when he gets a migraine. He offers scalp massages and times his compress use and refills his cup of whatever he's hydrating with and even guides Eddie to the bathroom when he doesn't want to crack an eye open to navigate the hallway.

I don't know how it ends, but at one point Steve asks Robin if migraines are contagious. She wants to grab him and shake him a little bit because what no, but he just looks so earnest and concerned and maybe a little guilty, it'd be like kicking a puppy.

Sirius did not cry at the starchaser wedding, he did, however, hug his brother for the first time in around 20 years

Neither of them can even remember the last time they hugged, they must have been around 7. They always loved each other, but once they'd grown past the sweet kid stage, they never really said or showed it.

When he walked into the dressing room and saw Lily fussing over his little brother, who was so close to getting everything he'd ever wanted, it finally hits him that they're both all grown up now; they'll never sleep in the same room giggling and throwing orange peels at each other again, they'll never see each other in school corridors and smile, they'll never fight over which mug is theirs or who gets the bigger sofa. His brother is about to be a married man, and the realisation of that huge passage of time is too much, he just has to throw himself at him like a proud parent. Regulus does cry when that happens because the nerves had gotten so high that he couldn't help it but if anyone even THINKS to mention it they're blackmailed into silence.

Thinking about Darrel watching Ponyboy pull away and watching him go quiet after everything that happens. Maybe go quiet isn’t right, Pony has always been quiet, now he was silent. And Darrel wishes he could snap his fingers and his brother would talk to him or talk to anyone about what’s going on in his head because Darrel can’t read his mind, no matter how badly he wishes he could.

I think there was one point where Darrel was watching his brother basically disassociate right in front of him and he wishes he could turn back time, even for a moment. He wishes he could go back to a time when large movements didn’t make his baby brother flinch back. A time when he was still starry eyed and completely hopeful.

He wants to go back and he wants to smack teenage Darrel over the head and tell him to start appreciating what he has. He wants to tell past him to stop skipping out on family dinners and stop complaining about taking his brothers to the drive in. He wants to shake his teenage self and tell him that he doesn’t know how good he has it. His parents make dinner. His dad watches football with him on Sundays. His mama makes the most perfect chocolate cake. His younger brother wears a real smile and laughs genuinely. His baby brother still follows him around and looks at him like he hung the stars in the sky. And he took it for granted.

Darrel’s chest aches when he remembers a time when he was still a kid and he had dreams of getting out. But it aches even more when he remembers a time when his brothers could still look at the world with hope instead of the fear and pain that fills their eyes now.

Maybe some part of Darrel knows that he isn’t the best person for his brothers. He knows they deserve more financial stability and a more present adult than he can ever give them. But the bigger and more selfish part of him refuses to give them up. Maybe Pony doesn’t follow him around anymore, maybe Soda’s smiles aren’t completely real anymore. Maybe they deserve more than he’ll ever be. But they’re the only family he has and he cannot lose them too.

DPXDC Idea: Mother of Monsters Dan(yal)

Specifically Fem!Dan because I made this in mind with my Fem Danyal Au bUT. The best part about Dan is that I get to play dress up with her, and Fem Dark Dany is gonna go by Layal (pronounced lae-el) because it means "the nights" and it sounds similar to Danyal, and I think she'd choose that name to mock Dany. ANYWAYS

Mother of Monsters Danyal. She may be evil but she's an Al Ghul at her core (even with vlad's soul merged with hers - however, considering that Layal looks and sounds like Dany, she considers that soul to be the more dominant one.) and loves animals. And she might be heartless, but she adores the monsters of the infinite realms.

Mother of Monsters Layal who hates everyone but utterly dotes and adores on every manner of beast she comes across. Stealing the eggs and infant young beasts of the Infinite Realms to raise as her own because she wanted them. Her own island full of monsters, a monstrous menagerie of her own. She steals most often from poachers or exotic pet keepers and other menageries -- the full grown beasties can keep their young.

And with every monster she raises, she can shapeshift their features onto herself, allowing her to change her shape from humanish to any matter of monster or hybrid creature. She calls herself their mother, and them her children. Her precious little babies, capable of incredible mass destruction and mayhem.

From little griffins the size of kittens, to stymphalian vulture chicks, and leviathan young hatching from eggs the size of her pinkie, to creatures native of the ghost zone that didn't even have names in the living realm. There really wasn't a limit to what or who she would take in and she didn't limit herself to any form of mythology. If they were beasts and they were unwanted, she wanted them. And as such, amassed her own mini army of "children" willing to listen to her any command.

Earth doesn't know what hit it when she attacks them.

There are many monstrous forms she could take on, the first one I've thought of is a combination of various serpentine/reptilian features. The body of a naga -- her lower half long and serpentine, her upper still human -- with spiked fins connecting from the bottom of her arms to her sides, ever seen Sinbad where Eris goes "you might have seen my likeness on the temple walls" and her arms do that fin thingy? Same concept. Her hands are webbed and taloned, perfect for slicing through the skin of the living, and her teeth are needle-sharp and shark like. Her hair can either be spiny and feathery-like like the spines of a lionfish, or frilled like a frilled-neck lizard. It's perfect for dealing and doting on her reptilian and amphibian-inclined darlings.

I'm more of a fan of aus where Dan is a sibling of Danny's rather than their kid, so Layal's redemption(..?? probation?) proceeds with her legally becoming Danyal's "twin" sister, who had been lost to the foster system before the Fentons adopted Dany, and was only recently reunited with her. The two of them look so alike that the lie is easy to take root and spread.

Layal is very indignant to the fact that she's now ten years in the past and has to restart her menagerie all over again. Do you know how much blood and sweat went into raising those children? How dare you separate them from their mummy. Although she'll admit she does miss their juvenile years, so she won't mind (too much) needing to raising them again. Dany is helping her retrieve all of them though, dammit.

long story short: epic the musical's "Scylla" has a CHOKEHOLD on me and this is the result of it

Unlike her Dan counterpart, Layal's voice is dancing and sirenic. It's purposely alluring and motherly, in order to lure people into a false sense of security until she feeds them to her "children." Echidna doesn't have shit on her. She almost seems friendly and reasonable, until you get too close and realize it was all an act and she drops it to metaphorically swallow you whole. She's like an anglerfish that way. She and Dany both sound like Scylla from Epic.

Symbiote Ellie Phantom AU

After she was saved from Destabilization, Ellie gained a nifty new power. She can Melt on command and move around freely, which is just a really fun power, even if she is a bit weaker when she uses it .

But one day, she gets really badly hurt. Like, Really Hurt. Let's say the GIW got a lucky shot and managed to capture her, and experimented on her for a week before she managed to escape.

She can't keep her Human Form stable anymore, but her Goop Form is good enough for now. All she needs to do is find an Ectoplasm Rich Environment and try to heal up the best she can. Hopefully Danny will find her after she misses her monthly Visit.

She ends up in Gotham while searching for a place to heal, but the GIW is hot on her tail.

She needs a place to hide, and the only way she can think of is to overshadow somebody and pretend to be them while the GIW passes her by.

So she jumps into the nearest person she can find, a girl close to her age jumping across Rooftops.

But since she was in her weaker Goop Form, she can't enter a person without their permission. So she slides up to the person in Goop Form, jumps on her Back, and telepathically asks her for help, begging for permission to hide in her for a bit.

The girl she tried to overshadow was Cassandra Cain.

After some begging, Cass agrees and Ellie sinks into her. Again, she can't fully Overshadow her, so she's basically a passenger until Cass decides to give her some control.

The GIW passes by them, and Ellie tries to leave Cass only to realize that she can't. Since Cass was exposed to the Lazarus Pits, she is has a weird Biology, and since Ellie already had a Wierd Biology being a Halfa Clone as a Pile of Goop, they somehow can't leave eachother.

Cass gets a new Roommate, but instead of sharing an apartment, its her body. It's honestly not that bad, Ellie can give her some of her old powers and she can still communicate by making a Goop Head come out of Cass's shoulder.

They get along really well too, Ellie can ways be there for Cass whenever she needs somebody to talk to, and Cass is the Supportive Older Sister who helps Ellie talk about her feelings.

The Bat Fam also doesn't know. They figure that this will probably be fixed soon enough, so there's no real reason to tell her Family. They do find out after a few weeks however.

Cass accidently uses Ellie's powers in front of one of her brothers, which causes them to tell Bat's which means the entire family knows by the end of the day.

Cass has to explain the situation and introduces her new little sister. "This is Ellie. She's a Meta who escapes a secret Government Organization and asked for my help to hide from them by hiding in my Body. Unfortunately, we can't split up because her powers reacted strangely to the Lazarus in my blood. She is now my sister. You are not going to make her leave, I will not let you."

It takes a while, but the Bat Fam ends up accepting her. They do end up looking into that "Secret Government Organization" though, and find that they have been experiencing Raids by an army of Ghosts for the last few weeks.

"Oh right, I missed my monthly visit to my brother." Says Ellie from Cass's shoulder. "He must be looking for me, no biggie."

It's definitely a Biggie.
